This month at Kat & Co, we are shining a light on one of our most popular skin treatments, and making it easier than ever to complete a full course. Our treatment of the month is SkinPen microneedling, with a course of three treatments now £599 (usually £700).
Autumn is a great time to focus on skin repair. After a summer of sun, heat and holidays, many of us notice duller skin, uneven tone or texture that is not as smooth as it used to be. If that sounds familiar, microneedling could be exactly what your skin needs. Here is what it is, how it works and why a course delivers the best results.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin treatment that works with your body's own repair process. A handheld device creates thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels in the surface of the skin. This prompts the skin's natural healing response, encouraging the production of new collagen and elastin, the fibres that keep skin looking firm, smooth and healthy.
At Kat & Co we use SkinPen Precision, a medical-grade microneedling device used in clinics worldwide. Because no layer of skin is removed, microneedling offers a gentler alternative to deeper resurfacing treatments while still working on skin quality from within.
Microneedling can help to improve the appearance of a wide range of common skin concerns, including:
It can be used on the face, neck and décolletage, as well as areas of the body. At your consultation, we will talk through your concerns and which areas would benefit most.
Collagen builds gradually, so microneedling works best as a course rather than a one-off treatment. We typically recommend three sessions spaced around four weeks apart. This gives your skin time to heal and respond between treatments, with results continuing to develop over the following weeks as new collagen forms.
That is why this month's offer covers a full course of three, so you can follow the recommended treatment plan from start to finish.
Each appointment takes around an hour. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most patients find the procedure comfortable, with some feeling a light vibration on the skin.
Afterwards, your skin may look pink or red, similar to mild sunburn, for 24 to 48 hours. Some mild swelling can also occur. Most people return to their normal routine quickly, although we advise avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, skipping active products such as acids and retinol for a few days, and wearing a high-factor SPF every day.
Microneedling suits a wide range of skin types and concerns, and is popular with anyone who wants to improve skin texture, tone or scarring without surgery. It is not suitable for everyone, for example those with active acne or certain skin conditions, which is why every treatment begins with a consultation with one of our experienced skin therapists.
For this month only, a course of three SkinPen microneedling treatments is available at Kat & Co for £599, saving £101 on our usual course price of £700.
