Dr Rinesh Parmar graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011. He has since undertaken posts in acute medicine, cardiology, surgery and A&E prior to commencing postgraduate anaesthesia training.
Rinesh began his anaesthetic training in 2013 and continued his core and specialist training within the Birmingham School of Anaesthesia. He has worked at numerous hospitals across Birmingham, the Black Country as well as with Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Rinesh was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Russells Hall Hospital in 2023. His clinical interests are general and regional anaesthesia for major colorectal and vascular surgery. He has an interest in Obstetric anaesthesia and cosmetic plastic surgery. He uses both Total Intravenous Anaesthesia (TIVA) and sedation as part of his regular clinical practice.
In addition to his clinical work Rinesh is interested in clinical improvement and simulation based medical education has been championing this in his NHS role. Regionally in the West Midlands, Rinesh Chairs the British Medical Association’s Consultants Committee and he has previously held a national role as Chairman of the Doctors Association UK. He holds a Diploma in Immediate Medical Care and has an interest in Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine, working with charities to deliver expert hospital-level care at the roadside across the region.
Outside of work, Rinesh enjoys spending quality time with his family and travelling. He is an avid cricket fan and amateur landscape photographer.
