Liposuction is a surgical procedure to remove unwanted fat deposits, usually located in the hips, thighs, tummy and underside of the arms.
Vaser liposuction is a technique that uses ultrasound technology to target fat cells, breaking them down selectively to make them easier to extract. What distinguishes the Vaser lipo procedure is its ability to differentiate fatty tissue from other important structures - such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. The liquefied fat can be removed with a needle, reducing damage to nearby tissues.

The cost of VASER liposuction at Kat & Co is influenced by the number of areas being treated, as well as the overall complexity of the procedure.
During your consultation, your surgeon will carry out a detailed assessment of the areas you would like to improve, taking into account factors such as fat volume, skin quality, and your desired outcome. This allows them to recommend the most effective treatment plan and provide a clear, accurate quote tailored to your individual needs.
Having a clear understanding of the specific areas you wish to target is essential, as treating larger areas or multiple regions may require additional surgical time and a more customised approach.

There are different liposuction techniques available, but at Kat & Co, VASER liposuction is widely regarded as the gold standard for body contouring.
VASER liposuction uses advanced ultrasound technology to selectively break down fat cells while preserving surrounding tissues such as nerves and blood vessels. This allows for:
VASER liposuction is especially popular for areas such as the chest, abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, and chin, and is frequently chosen by male patients concerned about excess chest fat.
The cost of liposuction in the UK can vary significantly between providers. These differences are not just about price as they often reflect the technique used, the experience of the surgeon, and what is included in the overall treatment and aftercare package.
At Kat & Co, pricing for VASER liposuction is based on your individual concerns, desired results, and the areas being treated, ensuring a tailored and clinically appropriate approach rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.
One of the biggest factors influencing liposuction cost in the UK is the technique used during the procedure.
VASER liposuction may have a higher cost than traditional methods because:
These advantages often lead to smoother results, better contour definition, and higher patient satisfaction.
The number of areas treated and the size of those areas will also influence the overall cost. Treating multiple or larger areas typically requires more surgical time and a carefully planned approach to ensure balanced, natural-looking results.
During your consultation, your surgeon will assess fat volume, skin quality, and body shape to determine the most effective treatment plan and provide a personalised quote.
The skill and experience of your surgeon play a vital role in both results and pricing. While liposuction can be performed by different types of surgeons, experience levels can vary significantly.
At Kat & Co:
A higher level of surgical expertise may be reflected in the cost, but it also contributes to improved results, reduced risks, and a higher standard of care throughout your surgical journey.

While liposuction may appear cheaper abroad, choosing to have VASER liposuction in the UK offers important advantages in terms of safety, regulation, and aftercare. UK clinics are strictly regulated, and all surgeons are GMC-registered, allowing you to verify their credentials and experience.

For these reasons, undergoing VASER liposuction with a reputable, CQC-regulated UK clinic such as Kat & Co provides greater peace of mind and a higher standard of care.

Liposuction is an extremely common cosmetic procedure, and the vaser technique improves upon traditional liposuction in terms of safety and results. Vaser liposuction has been proven to be safe and causes minimal side effects. It also causes less blood loss than traditional liposuction, especially with larger or more complex areas.
The best way to minimise the risk of VASER lipo side effects is to use a highly skilled cosmetic surgeon. It’s their experience and skill, as well as cutting-edge equipment, that will ensure you get outstanding results and a lower risk of complications.
VASER liposuction is far less invasive than traditional liposuction, and we’ll do all we can to set you at ease and make you comfortable. When we get underway, your surgeon will mark your body in the areas that are being treated. After this you lie down and we administer a local anaesthetic (or sedation if required). Once the anaesthetic takes effect, we make tiny incisions near the marks and inject tumescent fluid to expand the tissue layer. Once this is done your surgeon will insert a small ultrasonic emitting probe which targets fat cells and breaks them apart. A small hollow tube (cannula) is then used to gently suck the fat away. The procedure is concluded with the incisions being closed and dressed with bandages and a compression garment placed over the top.
VASER liposuction normally takes between one to four hours. The exact time will depend on the size and number of areas treated. Typically, each area will take around an hour to treat.
You will be able to go home on the same day as your vaser liposuction procedure. We use either local or twilight anaesthetic meaning reduced recovery time and lower associated risks than with general anaesthetic.
You’ll be able to get on with most things you normally do the day after treatment – or as soon as you feel ok. But with VASER liposuction, it’s good to allow yourself around two to three weeks to fully recover. If you can go for a few walks in those early days that will really help with the drainage of fluid, just avoid any strenuous activity for about a month to let your body get back to normal.
The time you’ll need to take off work really depends on the amount of areas you have treated and what work you do. If you work in an office, you should be fine to return within one to three days after treatment – but you might want to take off a week to let the swelling go down and for your wounds to stop leaking.
There is usually very little pain following vaser liposuction, and this can be managed easily with painkillers. Minor swelling around the area will usually remain for around 5-6 weeks and you may also experience some bruising or numbness during this period.
The main differences are how the technologies treat the fat and what kind of treatments can be performed. Laser lipolysis uses a laser fiber to deliver laser energy to the fatty tissue through an incision in the skin. Laser lipolysis is not tissue selective, so important tissue structures like blood vessels and nerves can be damaged in the treatment. VASER Lipo, on the other hand, uses a thin probe to deliver ultrasonic energy to selectively break apart the fat while preserving important tissues to promote fast recovery and smooth skin retraction. Typically, laser lipolysis is only used to treat small areas of localised fat. VASER Lipo can be used to treat both small and large areas of the body. Both of these procedures use small instruments and can be performed in-office while you are awake.
The professional guideline recommends that no more than 5 litres of fat should be removed in one surgery.
VASER liposuction is a quicker, less invasive and more precise method of liposuction. Using the latest technology, VASER lipo harnesses the power of ultrasound to exclusively target fat cells. This means a shorter, gentler procedure, better results, and faster recovery times.
Once you have fat removed, it is gone and, assuming a healthy lifestyle of proper diet and exercise, it will not return or migrate. Following your VASER Lipo procedure, should you experience weight gain or loss, it will tend to be proportionately distributed over your entire body. However, because fat is necessary to a healthy body, some essential fat layers in any given area remain untreated. If you do gain a significant amount of weight, the remaining fatty tissue will expand. Normal ageing changes can also be expected.
If overall weight loss is your primary aim, standalone VASER lipo is not going to be the right solution for you. VASER lipo is for removing fat that you can’t shift through a healthy diet and exercise. If you don’t maintain a healthy lifestyle after VASER lipo treatment, the fat will return to your body.
We recommend you have a course of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) treatments to aid the healing process and reduce your recovery time. It will help reduce any swelling and bruising, tighten up your skin and act as a detox for your body. Usually you’ll need around five treatments lasting an hour, although you may need more for abdominal, mid-def and hi-def VASER lipo.
